Bio:
Aliya Perry has been dancing and performing since the
age of 5! In May of 2004, she graduated from Manhattanville
College with a BA in dance and theatre. She has studied
numerous forms of dance; ballet, modern, jazz, African-Caribbean,
lyrical, Broadway jazz, tap, jazz funk and hip hop. She
has had the opportunity to professionally choreograph
for NylaCachet Fashion Company in NYC, Hip Hop Kids, Bronx
Talent Search, and numerous dance studios in Westchester
County. Her frequent trips to LA, California keeps her
hip to the latest styles and dance steps in pop culture
today. In Los Angeles she has taken class with Dante,
from the movie “You Got Served”, Kevin Maher, assistant
to Britney Spears choreographer, Wade Robson, and many
more. In New York, she has studied with Brian Thomas,
choreographer for Michael Jackson, legend Frank Hatchett
and several teachers from professional dance companies;
Alvin Ailey, Jose Limon, Pilobolus, and Jump Rhythm Jazz
Project.
As a result of her training, Aliya has had the pleasure
in dancing for “Let’s Move On” music video, for artist
“Sage” and the September 11th dedication at the United
Nations. Aliya has drive and desire to not only dance
for herself, but to share her passion with others. Her
passion for teaching is just a strong as her passion to
perform. She connects with her students and always gains
their respect and full interest in her classes. Aliya
continues to gain more fans of her work and is no where
near stopping. We are thrilled to have Aliya on our staff!
