Bio:
Lauren Bliss is an alumnus of Manhattanville College
in Purchase, NY where she graduated Summa cum Laude
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Theatre.
She has been a teacher and choreographer for ten
years, working with students of all ages and levels
in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, hip hop/funk,
and rhythm tap. Growing up in South Florida Lauren
trained with Mia Michaels of So You Think You Can
Dance? and Dana Michaels, with whom she toured as
a master class assistant for conventions and competitions
including Dance Masters of America. Lauren has also
studied with professional teachers and choreographers
such as Carlos Orta of the Jose Limon Company, Gabri
Christa of the Bill T. Jones Dance Company, and
Jonathan Wolken, a founder of Pilobolus. In addition
to studio teaching, Lauren works as a stage manager
and lighting designer for various theater companies
throughout the tri-state area; currently she also
directs and choreographs for No|To Ensemble, an
experimental dance/theater company.
